A conservative activist and former presidential candidate says despite encouraging poll numbers, a huge GOP victory in the upcoming mid-term elections is hardly a foregone conclusion.
With the election now less than two months away, poll after poll indicates that the Democrats are going to take a huge hit in November with many surveys predicting a GOP takeover of the House. The Hill recently reported that Republicans have turned out three-million more voters than the Democrats during the primary season so far -- effectively reversing the three-million-vote advantage Democrats enjoyed in the last mid-term election in 2006.

Glenn Beck Rally Draws Large Crowd to D.C. |

Popular FOX News Channel and radio talk show host Glenn Beck drew a crowd that may have exceeded 300,000 to the National Mall in Washington, D.C. earlier today for his "Restoring Honor" rally.
There were a number of Bible passages read, references to Jesus Christ, and calls to repentance and faith from the various speakers that included former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, Alveda King, niece of Martin Luther King Jr. who delivered his famous "I have a Dream" speech on the mall 47 years ago today, and St. Louis Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols, who was honored for his work to inspire hope both on and off the field.
While there's nothing wrong with calls to honor those who have served and sacrificed in our nation's military or those who have engaged in great acts of "faith, hope, and charity," there is justified concern among discerning Christians of Glenn Beck's Mormonism. Christians simply cannot have spiritual unity with Mormons. We must keep our focus on our Savior and God's Word, not "look inside ourselves" (or to the Book of Mormon) for any answers to the times in which we live. At the same time, "we must stand for the things we know are true," as Mr. Beck wisely said.
