What One Mom Did   (September 21)

Planned Parenthood doesn’t like it, but the largest public high school in Illinois now teaches abstinence only.

It all started with the work of one Chicago mom, Debbie Olson.   A mother of four and a registered nurse, Debbie had concerns about her son’s sex education classes.   But, instead of going to the school board or the principal, she politely asked her son’s health teacher to consider adding abstinence to his lessons.

Debbie volunteered to present abstinence from a “medical, factual point of view.”  From the offer to teach one class, it grew.  One year after her son graduated, abstinence only was the official policy of Lane Tech.

Planned Parenthood isn’t welcome there – thanks to one mom who put her faith to action!
